About the Team

You will be part of the IT Market & Purchasing Applications team responsible for global SAP Ariba platform ownership and support across ZF Lifetec. The team partners closely with Procurement, Finance, SAP ERP, SAP MDG, middleware, suppliers, and external AMS partners to ensure stable, compliant, and scalable procurement processes. This role focuses on senior ownership of SAP Ariba Downstream capabilities, including Buying, catalog management, PunchOut, Ariba Network document flows, and integration stability in a global multi-region environment.

What you can look forward to as SAP Ariba Downstream Senior Consultant (m/f/d)

  • Own and operate SAP Ariba Downstream processes, including Buying, catalog management, PunchOut, and Ariba Network document flows, as a senior hands-on application specialist.
  • Support Business Network transactional flows including purchase orders, order confirmations, and ship notices, ensuring stable supplier connectivity and process visibility.
  • Maintain and optimize catalog and PunchOut setup together with suppliers, Procurement, SAP ERP teams, and external partners.
  • Troubleshoot complex downstream issues such as PO transmission failures, catalog errors, supplier connectivity issues, data mismatches, and PR / PO / GR synchronization problems.
  • Coordinate integration topics across SAP Ariba, SAP ERP, CIG / SAP Cloud Integration, IDoc processing, and middleware teams, with focus on document flow stability and data consistency.
  • Drive quarterly SAP Ariba release impact analysis, regression testing, release readiness, and post-release validation for in-scope downstream processes.
  • Provide advanced L3 / L4 support for complex operational issues with focus on root-cause analysis, permanent fixes, and reduction of repeat incidents.
  • Support procurement process governance through standardized configuration, controlled changes, documentation, and continuous improvement of downstream processes.

Your Profile as SAP Ariba Downstream Senior Consultant (m/f/d)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 6 to 9 years of hands-on SAP Ariba experience, with strong depth in Buying, catalog management, PunchOut, Ariba Network, and downstream document flows.
  • Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting purchase order, order confirmation, ship notice, requisition, purchase order, and goods receipt flows between SAP Ariba and SAP ERP.
  • Strong understanding of catalog data, supplier master data, purchasing organizations, purchasing groups, material data, and other master data elements required for clean ordering.
  • Good understanding of SAP ERP integration, CIG / SAP Cloud Integration, IDoc behavior, mapping checks, and error analysis for PR / PO / GR synchronization.
  • Experience in AMS, incident resolution, problem management, change requests, SIT, UAT, and quarterly SAP Ariba release testing.
  • Ability to work as a senior hands-on individual contributor with ownership mindset, structured problem solving, and strong accountability for stable downstream operations.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work across global business users, suppliers, IT teams, ERP teams, and external implementation or support partners.
  • Fluent English communication skills: experience in global procurement environments is preferred.
