Lead Metrology & CMM Technician
Mesa, AZ | Non-Exempt

As the plant's metrology and measurement systems expert, you'll be the go-to resource for CMM programming, dimensional measurement, calibration, and inspection processes. You'll help improve measurement methods, support new product launches, mentor team members, and ensure our quality systems deliver accurate, reliable, and repeatable results.

Who we are

Our Mesa, Arizona facility is a highly automated manufacturing operation that produces lifesaving airbag inflators for some of the world's leading automotive manufacturers. Using advanced automation, precision manufacturing, and rigorous quality standards, we deliver safety-critical products that people rely on every day.


What You'll Do

· Serve as the site technical expert for CMM programming, dimensional metrology, and measurement systems.

· Develop, maintain, and optimize CMM and vision system programs.

· Create and improve measurement plans, inspection methods, and standard work.

· Analyze measurement data, troubleshoot issues, and support root cause investigations.

· Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve quality and reduce variation.

· Train and mentor technicians on measurement equipment, CMM operation, and best practices.

· Support new product launches by validating measurement systems and inspection methods.

· Perform calibration, receiving inspection, MSA activities, and quality system support.

· Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to solve manufacturing challenges.


What You'll Bring


Required

· High School Diploma or GED.

· 5+ years of manufacturing quality, metrology, or measurement systems experience.

· Advanced CMM programming experience.

· Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.

· Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred

· Associate degree in a technical field.

· Experience with Vision Systems and IndySoft software.

· ASQ CQT or related certification.

· Experience training or mentoring others.

· Automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.

Additional Requirements

· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

· U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

· Successful completion of 10-panel substance abuse screening, ATF lifetime background check, and employment eligibility verification.
